Latest addition to Leeds food and drink scene opens its doors
4th Nov 2009
Hidden away in a secluded alley way in the centre of Leeds, distrikt is the newest
addition to the city's bar/restaurant scene and finally opened its doors for a weekend full of good food and music that
have already contributed to the bar/restaurant's growing reputation.
The opening weekend featured a blend of Leeds' finest DJs such as Matt Long, Gav Paul, Tom Thorpe, Brinsley Kazak, Kzm Kzm Kzm and international DJs such as Quarrion and Floating Points. The menu included dishes like baby octopus, spiced chicken wings, scallops, and roasted strawberries with licor 43, to mention but a few.
The venue itself differs from many others, as it's a small cave-like, intimate basement. The three booths, all curved to contribute to a distinct shape, can hold up to 12 persons each. With several tables scattered around the place, it's not hard to get comfortable and enjoy the atmosphere. The food served is a combination of middle eastern and Mediterranean cuisine, prepared by a chef whose experience includes working in a Michelin starred restaurant.
